In this training, we will learn about Program Governance as defined by the Head Start Act and Performance Standards. We will also discuss the roles in governance for parents, staff, and Board of Directors. Participants will receive tools that will support their meetings and leadership in the Policy Council and Board of Directors. We will discuss by-laws, minutes, code of conduct, and Robert's Rules of Order.


At the end of this session the participant will be able to:
  • Use parliamentary procedures (Robert's Rules)
  • Understand why we use Robert's Rules in Head Start Policy Council and Board meetings.
